This mason bee house is made in our wood shop with premium radiata pine.
The generous spacing between the holes helps prevent transferance of disease and slows down any parasitic wasps. It has a sloped roof, generous eaves and side walls to increase weather protection. Our own is an optional addition. It can also be used with and , or . People often fill any gaps or extra space with sticks wedged between the tubes or reeds.
Painting your mason bee house with exterior latex paint, or tung oil (reapplied annually), will help preserve it. The wood is glued and we use deep staples. Features a key-hole on the back for hanging with a nail.
